Avarga — Great Aurag Ordo (Khödöö Aral)
The first capital of the Mongol Empire and site of Chinggis Khaan’s Great Aurag palace, in Delgerkhaan soum, Khentii aimag.

It lies at the confluence of the Kherlen and Tsenkher rivers, on the Khödöö Aral steppe. It was the centre of the state before Kharkhorum.
A study published in 2020 suggests it was Chinggis Khaan’s winter base.
